The Owner

The owner is the person or entity who owns the rights to an invention, and not necessarily the inventor(s).

In Switzerland, the Swiss Code of Obligations, article 332, states that an invention or software belongs to the employer. Specifically, for CHUV, the same rule is given by the Law on the Personnel of the State of Vaud and - for the University of Lausanne – by the Law on the University of Lausanne.
